This is one of those moments where we are once again reminded that early years education does not exist separately from the world around us.

With schools currently operating online across parts of the region and many teams adjusting their routines again, educators and leaders are doing what they always do- adapting quietly, supporting families, and holding steady for young children even when the wider environment feels uncertain.

It’s at times like this that perspective matters.

Jeanne Barczewska, a well respected member of the Let’s talk early years community shared an insightful perspective. Jeanne’s article, When Global Events Affect Early Childhood Education: What Early Years Leaders Must Be Prepared For, is a timely reminder that children grow up within systems, communities and global realities - and that early years professionals play an important role in how stability, reassurance and continuity are experienced during periods of disruption.
